Vanity is a 450 capacity nightclub located on King Street. We arrived just before 11pm when the venue opens and outside was a very large queue. It is not apparent which queue is standard and which queue is for guest list.
The first thought of when you arrive at Vanity is that it is very unorganised, which instinct proved to be correct.
Once you are inside the venue, you are greeted with the stylish open plan room. There are a couple of private rooms for VIP and table hire. The music played in Vanity was a good mixture of old classics as well as modern chart.
Technically the sound system lacks bass and despite the venue having a number of moving heads, it was only using a couple of par cans (lights) so don’t expect any wonderful lighting effects.
For the first time ever, we experienced a bar that had ran out of larger by 12.30, literally an hour and a half after the club opening, which caused frustration to the customers and clearly the bar staff we not amused.
Vanity also employ an MC who likes to shout over pretty much every track and really over does it.
Vanity has potential to be a very good club, however it is just poorly managed and
over run with wanna-
Let's hope it improves soon.
