About Us:

BristolNightlife.com kicked off in 2006 as a group of lads who simply just loved to party..hitting Bristol's bars and night clubs moreless every weekend! Our team have been living in Bristol all of their lives and as we were constantly getting asked where the best place to go is, we felt the need to explain and recommend the superb nightlife of Bristol.

We know Bristol like the back of our hands, and we still try to go out almost every weekend to see whats going on in the clubbing scene and to monitor any changes to the bars & clubs. We review clubs from the publics point of view, not like other Bristol websites that rate clubs based on what clubs pay.

There are alot of Bristol related sites cropping up, but most of them are owned by a venue in Bristol trying to promote themself's, giving people false information about other bars & night clubs.. BristolNightlife.com offers you a true, non biased review of Bristol's bars & clubs... No false information will be found here.

Members from our team, age between 18 - 25 and therefore know what younger people like & dislike. This is why we can without a doubt provide you with a clear and accurate review of Bristol city centre's bars & night clubs.

We concentrate on the town centre as it is the place to be for a excellent night out. If you have never been to Bristol, you will most likely get attracted to the most obvious bars and nightclubs...

This is where our role comes into place, to pin point you in the right direction for a seriously good night out.

There are a few bars and small clubs missing, however all of the best venues have been reviewed, but we keep adding and wont stop until all of Bristol's venues are covered that are worthy of a good night out! We are the biggest and best site dedicated to the nightlife in bristol.

  1. Hi Midu, Oceana is open on a Thursday evening and has £1.50 on selected drinks!! Admission is FREE before 10pm, £3 till midnight and £4 after. For some warm up drinks, I would either recommend BSB or Lloyds bar on the waterfront. Hope this helps! Cheers, Ed.

  2. Where is today the best party for students?? thursday night?

  3. Hi Midu, Tonight you can go clubbing at Propaganda which is the UK's biggest indie night and is hosted in the Syndicate Superclub - check out http://www.thepropaganda.com for more information. Hope this helps. Ed

  4. Where can we go clubbin tonight in bristol??

  5. Hi Katie.. The best venue to go for a wicked party at the moment is Panache.. hit it up on a Saturday night and you will have an awesome time! Go to http://www.panachebars.com/guestlist.html to get yourself on the guestlist!!

  6. Hi, was wondering were is best to go in Bristol, 8 girlies out for the night saturday..

  7. No probs.. yeh dark jeans and a shirt will be fine for all places. The most awkward place about shoes are Oceana and Panache, so just make sure they look like shoes.. no steel caps allowed :)

  8. Thanks I have a pair of brown trainers(love them)have white sole but look like shoes so will they be alrite with dark jeans and shirt to get into most places??

  9. Hi Speed.. dress code is usually smart/casual.. t-shirt, jeans and shoes will be fine. Some places will let you in with trainers but if your planning hitting the clubs then put shoes on to be safe. Av a good time!

  10. over from Ireland this weekend whats the dress code like?Ie shoes, shirts etc for most of the pubs/clubs?

    Thanks in advance

  11. Hi Hannah, Oceana is open on a Thursday evening and has £1.50 on selected drinks!! Admission is FREE before 10pm, £3 till midnight and £4 after. For some warm up drinks, I would either recommend BSB or Lloyds bar on the waterfront. Hope this helps! Cheers, Ed.

  12. Hii! it's my birthday on thurs 29th, and I'm from Cardiff and the nightlife is slowly going downhill, a load of us are coming to Bristol to experience the nightlife for the first time, but we'll be going out on the thursday, where do you reccomend going as I can imagine it's not a huge night. Also anywhere we could stop for some cheap pre-drinks before hitting somewhere bigger. Rnb music preferred but anything really. Would really appreciate some help. Thank youuuu :)

  13. Hi Teri, sorry we missed your post!! I would stick to the waterfront on a Sunday.. the bars will be open and Oceana will be open, some of the other clubs will be shut though.

  14. Local Indie Rock band Heavy Plant Crossing are Headlining this coming Saturday Night at 'The Fleece' (12 St Thomas Street, Bristol BS1 6JJ www.TheFleece.co.uk)

In an unprecedented move, the night will be FREE of charge entry into The Fleece and to the HPC (plus special guests support) Gig on Saturday 10th of July.

This is a funded Promo Night, as HPC wish to connect with their existing fans and meet potential fans and showcase their new material to their home city of Bristol.

For more about the band, please visit www.HeavyPlantCrossing.net

  15. Hi, Unfortunately we're only stopping in Bristol for one night in a couple of weeks and it happens to be a Sunday night! Are there any bars / clubs you could recommend for a Sunday or are they all closed?! Thanks!

  16. @Dee: I would recommend either Rewind which is mostly classic cheese from the 60's through to current day - which is located above walkabout bar. Otherwise Oceana would be suitable - the disco room on the top floor plays a mix and match, and the ice room on the middle floor plays current music. Hope this helps. Thanks, Ed.

  17. Trying to organize a hen weekend in bristol, we are all 40 years + would like to go to a club with 60's 70's 80's & 90's music, what would you recommend.

    Many thanks

  18. @Tom: Most of the bars along the waterfront would accept a stag party without an issue. Then if your looking to go onto a club, both Oceana and Syndicate do not have a problem with accepting fancy dress or stag parties. Hope this helps! Cheers, Ed.

  19. Alright guys, Where are the best Stag friendly places to go on a Saturday night, considering we are all dressing up Top gun theme in flight suits and aviator sunnies?

    Cheers, Tom

  20. @James: Hi james, what kinda of music you into ? Got Ramshackle at the o2 Academy for Indie night (Its not all indie) More info: http://www.ramshackle.co.uk/event.php?eid=27568. Or on every friday nights its 'I Love the 90's' at syndicate.

    Cheers

    Rikky

  21. Heading to Bristol on Friday for the weekend, never been before. Anyone recommend any good events or clubs on Friday and Saturday? Thanks.

  22. @Carl: Welcome to brsitol :) i would recommend heading over to 'Basement 45' Its got a really good underground feel and play some good dubstep, For the best night go there on satruday. Cheers

  23. Where's the best spot to hear some dubstep like Headhunter, 2562, TRG, Martyn etc. I heading over from the colonies for a holiday.

  24. @Jetru: I would suggest trying one of the bars along the water front this evening. Either BSB or Lloyds.

  25. where is it kicking here in bristol on a tuesday 29 june

  26. Hi Carlos.. what information are you looking for? Regards

  27. Hi guys can someone from your site contact me on the number below to update whats going on @ the syndicate cheers

    07769337898

  28. @Peter Smith: Hi Peter, I am not sure whether or not Syndicate would be able to disable strobe lighting completely as a number of their lighting effects have strobe facilities. Your best bet would be to contact Syndicate directly as you have suggested. Their phone number is 01179 450325. I believe that the phone lines are open late afternoon to early evening. Hope this helps, Ed.

  29. Can you tell if is possable to have the strobe lighting turned off in the Syndicate club, what time do their phone lines open so i can find out?

    Cheers

  30. @Deano: If you are looking for a variety of options then I would recommend oceana. There are a few bar areas where people can sit, as well as two rooms for clubbing. The Ice room which is current music and the disco room which is all of the old classics. If you are looking for the older kind of music (i.e. 70's and 80's) then I would recommend Rewind (above Walkabout) or Reflex.

@Nikita: Sorry for the late reply, I can confirm however that this coming Friday 25th there is a Crossroads Records Take Over Tour and this coming Saturday 26th they have guest DJ, Ashley Casselle - You can find more information about upcoming events at http://www.basement45.co.uk/ Hope this helps, Ed.

  31. can someone tell me if basement 45 got anything good going on tonight?

  32. Hiya i have organised a stag night on the 10th of july and im looking for somewhere to take an older stagg party average age early 40's. possibly somewhere we book a VIP area to give some space to the elders to rest there legs, haha.

  33. Sorry for the late reply people, been busy, pushing forward with the site, more good things to come :)

@Louise: Hey, i know for sure Oceana has wheelchair access. What other clubs are you thinking of visiting ? i can check for you, cheers Rikky

@Jay: Hi, we have no events for under 18 at the moment, but when we hear of any we will keep you up to date, cheers Rikky

@Joe: Hi, A great bar i would recommend for the old age group would be O'neils on Baldwin street, Then maybe pop next door to Reflex for some 80's music, Cheers Rikky

@Rob/Jane: Hi, i would both recommend Oceana, 3 different bars with different music, check our review for more details, Cheers Rikky

  34. We are planning our friends hen night and one of the party is wheelchair bound. Can anybody recommend a club with disabled access and toilets etc please. x

  35. when are the under 18 niights in oceana or any other bristol club ???

  36. Hey, out of all the bars which one is best for a 30-45 year old to meet someone or just chill out ???

  37. Hey, have a group of 19 guys on a stag on 3rd July. Where's the best place to go?

  38. Hey, have a hen party of about 10-15 girls, where is the best proper club to go to, where we can dance all night, nothing cheesy please! Thank you

  39. Yeh sarah, if you are after a party pack, then Oceana or Panache would be a good place to go. see the following links:

    http://www.oceanaclubs.com/bristol/clubpacks

and for panache, you will need to contact them directly.. mention BristolNightlife.com to Kerry, she should be able to give you a good deal!

    http://www.panachebars.com/contact/

  40. Hi Sarah,

I personally would recommend the Ice Room in Oceana for your evening. With a mixture of genres as well as current chart music, your sure to have a great night. Admissions about £8 after 11pm and around £5 before. Hope this helps.

  41. Oh and we're going on a saturday

  42. Me and my friends are heading to bristol for my birthday, we're all 18 and we were looking for somewhere with chart music where i could get a 'party pack' or something. Not into dance music all night. Thanks

  43. Thanks Rikky I have booked a VIP booth at Panache for Sat complete with Jugs of cocktails! Bring on the hen doo!

  44. Hi Kay, No Oceana isn't shutting down.. it's one of Bristol's strongest venues.

  45. just wondering if oceana is still open as i heard it was shutting down!

  46. @Shannon: Oceana tickets are usually around £10, but are cheaper if you go in before 11pm and cheaper if bought in advance. If you plan to go in before 11pm, there are some money off and great deal vouchers available from our site.

  47. hello i was wondering the price of tickets for oceana as i havent been before and a bit about it.

  48. http://www.panachebars.com/contact/

  49. Hi Kate. i would definitely recommend ending your night in Panache. They have VIPs boxes which is idea for a hen doo and i think you get a free bottle champagne, If you mention us it may help :) My only advise is ask for a box near the DJ box. i have attached a contact details to this message. Cheers, Rikky

  50. Hi we are coming to Bristol for my friends hen night Sat 5th June and want to know which club to head to? We like rnb and chart music. Do any of the clubs do VIP packages? Thanks

  51. Hi, I am on a hen weekend ths may bank holiday. We will be in bristol on the Saturday and Sunday night, can you please advise where the best places will be to go on both nights. We will all be in fancy dress on the Saturday night. Thank you.

  52. Hi lewis, This bank holiday should be a good one. I would recommend Dave Pearce anthems 2010 @syndicate, i may even pop long. Dave pearce is always a good hit

  53. hi we are thinking coming to bristol on the last bank hol in may sunday 30th is there anything going on? we went up oceana last time and it was way to expensive can you reccommend any other clubs?

  54. @Kerry: Happy birthday for Saturday :) Oceana is a great venue but has lots of different types of music. I would recommend having a few drinks up Corn street then heading off to Panache, they play most RnB with some commercial chucked in. if you still have some life left in you, head off to Antix up park street plays mostly RnB and sty open until 6am.

@Mike: Welcome to bristol, Thursday night are mainly students nights but would recommend heading down to the waterfront, popping into BSD and Lloyds.

@Celso: The place i normal go would be Timbuk2 or basement 45. Check the website for the events: basement45.co.uk

@Laidboy: Sounds like you got a good plan already. Shouldn't have no problem with syndicate, always see people dressed up. As long your well behaved you should be fine :) If you want cheese, i would recommend stopping off at Rewind and dance music stop off in BSB. Both venues are located on corn street, just 10 minute walk from syndicate

@Lucy: Sorry didn't get back to you in time, hope you had a great night. Yes syndicate isn't doing very well lately.

  55. I am going out on next saturday.where is a nice club to listening Tech House and minimal house music ? Thanks for help =D

  56. Hello..I am coming on Thursday to Bristol from Cyprus. Where is a nice club to go to? Some nice lady company will be nice as well.. :)

  57. Hi,

I am coming out in Bristol for my birthday on Saturday night (I am 26). Looked at Oceana which looks great for the music but a little young??! please help! I would like a few bars to go to before. Prefer commerical/Rnb music

  58. Hi, I'm going out on Friday 14th May for my 21st, where is good to go on a friday? I went to Syndicate last Friday and it was really quiet. Also it can't be a student night as people who aren't students aren't coming. Thanks for your help!

  59. Hi, I am organising my brother's stag in Bristol the weekend of 4-6th June. I was thinking of Clifton then waterfront/Oceana on Friday night, then city centre/Syndicate on Sat? Is Syndicate OK with fancy dress etc or is it more dance music? Keen for a bit of chart n cheese on the sat night if you have a better option!

  60. Hi McMassive! If your a student, then Monday nights, if you are not, then Sunday.. but for any night out, you should pick a Friday or Saturday :)

  61. When's best for a night out Sundays or Mondays?

  62. Hi Abbie, the next under 18 night is on the 2-June-2010 at Oceana Bristol, starts at 7pm, and ends at 11pm.

Click here if you wish to buy tickets from Oceana

  63. hmm. wens the next nappy night for oceana (bristol, town) cuuz it was amazinng the last couple of times me annd my friends went && we wanna no wen the next is ? tb. x

  64. -- the team are away for a week, therefore we will be unable to answer any questions until the 19th april --

  65. Hi Marshall, the O2 Academy have an Australian band called Powderfinger playing, not sure if there any good or not though! The other bars and clubs are open as normal but there isnt any headliners, apart from Audiobullys at the Thekla on the 26 April.

  66. is there any big nights happening on the 24th april?

    cheers

  67. Hi Hannah.. to be honest i couldnt really recommend anything for a tuesday night.. weekdays usually quite quiet.. maybe head over to thekla or go for a few down the waterfront

  68. where is a good place 2 go on a tuesday night??

  69. Hi Andy, If your heading out in the day time a pair of trainers will be fine, however i would recommend wearing shoes for the night.. The haye fight will most likely be on in the Walkabout bar, and probably a couple of bars down the waterfront :)

  70. Also wondering where would be the best place to watch the David Haye fight?

  71. Heading over from Ireland for the weekend with a few mates, pubs over here are closed on good friday. Just wondering what the story is with the dresscode in the clubs? Would i get away with a pair of converse?

  72. thanks mate

  73. No problems Nathan.. Travel Lodge Central is located right behind the waterfront, so you are right next to lots of bars and the Oceana night club, so the bars on the waterfront would be a good place to start.. your t-shirts should be fine..theres usually quite alot of hen and stag parties out and about dressed up etc. The only place you may have an issue getting in is Oceana, as they dont seem to like letting in lots of lads! You should be fine everywhere else! Yes the best strip joint in right in the center just off the waterfront, it was called Wildcats, however it has just changed it's name (not sure of the new name) but if you look at our clubbing map for wildcats you will see where its located! (its one of the best strip clubs we have ever been in, not just in bristol!) lol! Have a good one mate!

  74. hi thank you very much mate for that just one more question will we all getting in with polo t-shirts on with names on back or will they be a bit funny with that we are staying in the bristol central travel lodge wheres best to start and there is sum lap dancing bars will they be open

  75. Hi Nathan, yes its bank holiday weekend and sunday will be very busy.. everywhere will be open, and Gatecrasher is in Syndicate.. will be a very good night!

  76. hi there i am coming for my stag do on the 4th april thats easter sunday will there be plenty of places open and will it be a good night ok

  77. JS, bit of funky house I would suggest Dojo's up Park Row.. its small, but chilled out and it's open til 6am.. hip hop, don't see much of that nowadays to be honest. Mikael - Tonight there wont be alot open, but Oceana will be.. prob suggest going there tonight :)

  78. Hi! we are french and we want party this sunday befor taking our fly at 6h am. Do u know a good club for tomorow?? thx

  79. Hi, I am hoping to visit Bristol on the last May Bank holiday weekend Are there any R'n'B/ Hip hop/ Soca/Funky house/Ragga nights or clubs that you could recommed? Thanks JS.

  80. Hello, we have recently made a slight change to the site, and would appreciate some feedback weather you can view the website nice and clear.. or is there anything that is causing you problem that could do with being changed? Please post us some feedback on this board! Thank you :)

  81. Hi Stu, which venue are you promoting? You can either email event flyers to team@bristolnightlife.com or we can grant you access to a page to modify depending on the content you wish to add.

  82. How do i up-date a events listings and create a new profile? any help would be appreciated

  83. im cumin to bristol for tues 16th and wed 17th for a party?ne recommended places to go?

  84. Message for Craig Sully - We do not own or run a night club - we are an information site about Bristol's Nightlife. Contact whichever venue you were in directly.

  85. Hi Guys - Funny you should mention this rewind in Brsitol is about to launch 90's music night on the 26th March! Should be a great night - give me a shout and maybe I can help you out!

    Thanks

    Stuart

  86. Hi Pokee.. ok, to be honest your prob best going to a few bars to get your night rolling.. the club we usually recommend for the older type is Reflex, as they play the older tunes and cheese.. most places like Syndicate, Oceana and Panache are usually younger people so it probably wont be your cup of tea.. not to sure what else to suggest really.

  87. Also would anywhere have 90's music? Dance, garage even cheese lol

  88. Hi,

I'm coming into Bristol for my 30th on sat 13th March. Can you advise us wheres best to head for. We like most music but try to avoid the 18 year old meat markets! Just dont want to make too many mistakes on the night and spend unnecessary time & money finding the right place.

    Thank you.

  89. Hi Freddie, during the week is usually more quiet, but most of the students are out.. which means most clubs will only let you in if you have student ID (yeh we hate this too).. so im not going to lie, if you want a good night out then friday and saturday nights are recommended. The waterfront is full of bars, so these will be open to anyone, so if you fancy doing a bar crawl then your all good!

Hi Little, Oceana on friday nights are usually pretty busy, they play a mixture of R&B and dance.. typical chart music etc, otherwise they still have the 80's room upstairs! Alternative on a Friday night would be Panache.. Panache is an excellent choice, modern, funky and a good balance of lads and chicks! Hope that helps guys!

  90. Hi, I would like to know how is Oceana on Fridays, is it full, what music, etc. what other place do you recommend me for this friday 26th. thanks!

  91. Hi, we're a group of men coming for Cheltenham and thinking of staying in Bristol. What is the nightlife like mid-week. Staying 3 nights from 17th March til 20th. Thanks.

  92. Carl.. Antix or Aurora on park street.. somewhere to have a few beers and picks up into the night! Katy, fancy dress is fine, not many restrictions on this.. however your prob better off telling the lads to wear shoes, some places get funny about trainers! Abbey, the next under 18's is as followed at Oceana:

    Easter Half Term Party U18's

    7-April-2010 19:00 - 23:00

    for tickets follow the link:

    http://www.tick.it/oceana/bristol/event/29042/easter-half-term-party-u18%27s

  93. can 12 yeaar old goo? its just thaat my friend is 12. annd shee wants too go! :D x

  94. whenns the next under 18 , cuz me and my friends wanna come and have funn after the one we went to last night on valentines day we thought it was amazin with fugative playing and everything so we wanna no the next one thanks w/b xx

  95. Hiii, theres 25 of us going to the syndicate for my 21st, we are all in fancy dress are their any dress code restrictions? and does it matter if boys wear trainers etc? were going in cavegirl/,am wear

    thankyouu

  96. oceana's nappy night is greattttt

  97. Hey, where would be the best relaxed early evening drinks with some food venue in bristol? I'm looking for the kind of place that turns into a drinks lounge later on. Any ideas? Cheers

  98. Hi Sophie, most clubs are 18+ - only Oceana on Saturday nights are 21+

  99. is there a age restriction on most clubs of 21 ?

  100. Hi Shaun, most bars down the waterfront are usually open during the week, so if you want a few pints then head down there.. otherwise the Thekla (Boat bar/club) usually plays indie, and they are open on Tuesday. Check the clubbing map for the location.
